The Council is the governing authority of the University and will serve as a representative and consultative committee of the university administration, faculty and the public.
The composition of council includes members of the public to participate in the governance of the University in order to help sustain the institution and contribute to the upholding of ethical and educational standards.
By participating in this process, the University Council members drawn from the general public make an important civic contribution to the future of the university as well as to society and the nation.
The deliberations of the University Council are aided by appropriate knowledge of the financial status, budget distribution, admissions policy and other relevant information about the University.
