Puntland State University (PSU) has officially launched the construction of a new academic building dedicated to medical laboratories and engineering labs, marking a significant milestone in strengthening practical and hands-on education at the university.

The new facility will house modern medical labs and fully equipped engineering laboratories designed to support practical training, research, and innovation. The project aims to enhance students’ skills through laboratory-based learning and provide staff with improved spaces for teaching, experimentation, and academic supervision.

University leadership highlighted that the construction responds to the growing demand for science- and technology-based programs and reflects PSU’s commitment to producing competent graduates who meet national and regional workforce needs.

Once completed, the laboratories will significantly improve the quality of medical and engineering education at PSU, support research activities, and contribute to the university’s long-term vision of academic excellence and sustainable development.
