On 12th of November 2014, PSU celebrated the Association of African Universities day 2014, under the commemoration theme of “How can African Universities Enhance Capacity for job Creatation”, The event was held at the university main Campus Hall in Garowe, The Vice President of Puntland A number of ministers, government officials and representatives from international agencies based in Garowe, attended the ceremony .

The ceremony was opened by the PSU Vice Chancellor, Mohamud Hamud Mohamed with remarks marking the occasion and the importance of the AAU as a representative forum for all African higher education issues in Africa . He also informed the participants on AAU goals for Higher Education, notably, to facilitate the attainment and positioning of HEIs as strategic assets in tackling socio-economic challenges in the continent.

Finnaly, The Vice President of Puntland Abdiakim Omar Amay also gave special thanks to the vice chancellor who was one of the founders of Puntland State University for his effort, patience and hardworking. also appreciated all AAU Member Universities.
